What is this event about?

Do you enjoy technology? Do you like tinkering, want to find out what is actually inside a laptop, or have you always wanted to write your own program? Then you have come to the right place. At TUXEDO Computers, we develop laptops powered by Linux and free and open-source software, and we will show you just how exciting computer technology can be – with plenty of opportunities to explore, experiment, and get involved.

Our workshop is part of Code Week Bavaria 2026. It gives children and young people the opportunity to discover how much fun creative tinkering, digital technology, and programming can be. Across two sessions, you will take a look inside a notebook with us, get to know its most important components, and have the chance to get hands-on. Afterwards, you will take your first steps with Python and create your own small programs – no previous experience required.

The workshop takes place on two dates:

Part 1

Hands-on Hardware

Thursday, 29 October 2026
4:30–6:30PM

Together, we will take a look inside a notebook and show you how its hardware is put together. You will get to use real tools, remove and reinstall components, and learn how the individual parts work together. Along the way, you will also discover why Linux is an exciting alternative to other operating systems.

Part 2

Your First Steps with Python

Thursday, 5 November 2026
4:30–6:30PM

The second session is all about programming. Together, we will take our first steps with Python, one of the world’s most popular programming languages. You do not need any previous experience – we will start from the very beginning and use small, engaging exercises to show you how programming works.
